AI Education and Training: Teaching AI as a Skill Online
You are invited to attend a special event during our Opening Week Spring 2025 (6 – 10 January 2025). This online event is brought to you by the Center for Teaching and Innovation and will provide you with a framework to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills into a given curriculum. Dr. Nancy Pratt, Executive Director of the Division of Continuing and Extended Education at Cleveland State University (Cleveland, Ohio) will host the event.
Dr. Pratt represented Cleveland State University in the national working group Credentials As You Go, which aimed to establish a unified understanding of micro-credentials on a national scale. This work included consulting with the Higher Learning Commission on their Micro-credentials Learning Labs initiative. She is also spearheading the development of CSU’s competency-based AI micro-credentials across various industries and disciplines, including AI for The Academy, AI for the Workforce, and Prompt Engineering, all of which are launching this spring. In development are AI for K-12 Educators and AI for Healthcare Governance. Additionally, AI for Students is launching through a development partnership. In October, Dr. Pratt was invited to participate in the working group AI and Peacetech: A Cross-regional Brainstorming Working Group focused on the impact of AI on armed conflict and conflict resolution.
The goal of the session is to provide you with a framework for integrating AI skills into a given curriculum. Afterward, you will be able to integrate AI as a skill into your specific program (e.g., Biology, Accounting).
